Mojarto presents a short video of Baki Baki’s work titled “The Golden Fish” for Varanasi Arts Project.

Kohei BakiBaki Yamao is a Japanese Street artist based in Osaka. The mural painted by him is in the pattern of a fish with the golden Mahseer, that inhabits the Ganga, as a motif. The golden fish resembles a Japanese carp. It has been depicted as swimming against the tide in the hope that it may inspire us all to do the same. This is the fish that keeps the Ganga clean. When we endanger the existence of the Mahseer, we also endanger the health of the river. Saving the Mahseer means saving the river. Don’t fish for Mahseer, keep the Ganga clean.

Baki Graduated from Kyoto City Arts University in 2003. With his paintings and workshops, Baki has developed footprints around the world. BAKI’s style is fusion of tradition and street culture.
